This week we’ve learned that having three indicators potentially taking a trade is better than having just one indicator taking a trade.

At least, we think we’ve learned that.

Sometimes data doesn’t always say what we think it says. For example, people think an octopus can predict sporting events just because data hints at it.

So, we need to check.

For reference, here’s our 1-Hour Master Trend system that enters on Bollinger Bandâ„¢, RSI, and Stochastics breaks in 2023:

Trading 1 lot each time, trading all three hypothetically makes about $7,800 on the GBPJPY this year.

Now, what if we keep all the settings the same, but only activate the Bollinger Bandâ„¢ portion of the robot. Here’s how that did in 2023:

It made significantly less. How about just RSI?

Again, significantly less. And Stochastics?

It’s horrible! Just using Stochastics is deeply negative.

But if we again use all three together and go back a decade to January 2013, here’s what we get on the GBPJPY only:

What are the takeaways?

One, after seeing the bad Stochastics report, we could possibly just use Bands and RSI together.

Two, multiple signals seem to give us more opportunity to make more profit.

Even in an odd year like 2023.

Talk soon.
